WHERE WE PADDLE
McLaren Falls park is one of the Bay of Plenty's hidden gems. It is home to one of NZ's most diverse botanical collection of trees, and to the stunning Mangapapa Canyon!
Rotoiti means ‘the little lake’ in Maori, the water from the lake flows through the Kaituna River in to the Bay of Plenty.
Lake Rotoiti is surrounded in cascading native bush, and the shorelines dotted with iconic kiwi holiday homes (Bach's).
Learn the myths and legends of the Maori people linked to the area while exploring the quiet lake and it’s abundance of birdlife.
The Wairoa River
The beautiful Wairoa River flows from the Kaimai Ranges through to the Tauranga Habour. It is a tidal river and creates gentle current that assists with paddling. The Waimarino Adventure Park and Waimarino Kayak Tours office is situated on the banks of the Wairoa river in Bethlehem.
